Believe it or not, there’s a vehicle for everyone! We are not all the same, not in looks, thoughts, passions, or aspirations. So why should we all drive only a vehicle available at a certain store?
If you have been driving cars for a while, you already know that eery feeling you get shortly after you start driving a car new to you… it has this and that, which you like. But really wish it had something else that you vowed you would not buy your next car if that thing was not there. The truth is some of us like certain colors, some of us like certain interior types, maybe leather, maybe carbon fiber finishing, maybe a certain color of fabric etc., While some of us like certain power or control. Whatever it is, 100% of the time it is not found in the vehicle we get at the closest dealership… at least not locally.
However, you may find that a used car from a certain country actually has exactly the same interior that you want or the exact power that you want. The question is where do you find such a car?
GATE is exactly that place where you can find that car. GATE has created an infrastructure which allows pre-owned car dealers from all over Oman to list their vehicles. This means that you do not have to settle on the pre-owned car that is closest to you, because you may find the exact one you have just a few minutes or a few hours away. If it something that you really want, it may mean going somewhere within Oman to get it. But the option is finally there.

Many times if you search around your city and you willing to go from a used car dealer to another, you may find the exact car, or some time it may be in another wilaya. If you are in Muscat area, your car may be in Halban, or Seeb, or Sohar or even Salalah! The problem currently is that you have to mark so many instagram accounts, and sadly not all used car dealers are on instagram, neither are they all on Google or Facebook. You may not even know they exist! It is hard to find a dealer you do not know exists isn’t it?
Our vehicle listing infrastructure takes into account each vehicle information and encourages dealers to list as many items as possible. We believe this will show their customers, the features they need to know exist in a vehicle in their search for a perfect used car for their needs. This in turn will make vehicle search easy for all buyers. It will even allow one dealer to buy a vehicle from another dealer to make the vehicle available to their local customers.

For many buyers finding that car is like finding their first love, they look everywhere and are willing to travel the distance, if only they knew where that car is. Things are changing, however, as today you can look at Souq Maftooh (Open Souk), or DuBizzle (previously OLX), or many other small websites. But most of the time you find that information is lacking. This is because most of listers can only list things “they” know, not things that actually exist in any particular vehicle. Meaning, if the lister is the kind of person who likes muscle cars, then they list only those features that represent muscle cars even in casual luxury cars. Or if the lister likes gadgets, then they only focus on gadgets in the vehicle. But a vehicle may have 10 times more features.
In the West, there are vehicle sales and listing systems that allow for individuals, brokers, and dealers to list their vehicles in the best way possible, in order to reach masses of people and present proper information. Some systems categorize all features so that each buyer can look at features based on a few categories they feel are important for them while deciding to purchase a vehicle. For example, someone wanting a commercial van may want to know the size of the cargo area, how much weight it can handle, whether or not the cargo area is already customized or if they will need to customize it. Whether there’s separate air conditioning or if cabin air conditioning is also used for the rest of the vehicle, etc. So when such a buyer finds a few vans, and finds the features he wants in one vehicle, he is easily able to filter out what he doesn’t want to see. Of course, if a seller did not list those features while they actually exist, they lose out! So you can be sure if they are using the right system, they too will make sure that all the features that actually exist on their vehicle are listed.
In short, it is not easy to find a perfect used car, but nothing good is easy to find either! So look first for systems that will make this search easy for you.
